| DAVID C. JOHNSTON, JR. became Of Counsel to the firm in June 1999 and concentrates his practice in the areas of Aviation Law, Products Liability, General Liability, Insurance Law, Property Insurance Law and Appeals. An experienced Litigator, Mr. Johnston was admitted to practice in 1960. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City University School of Law, he is a member of Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and American Bar (Vice-Chair, Committee on Aviation and Space Law, 1970-1991) Associations. He is also a member of the International Bar Association, Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association, NTBS Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel, International Society of Air Safety Investigators, and International Association of Arson Investigators. Mr. Johnston served as Vice-Chair of the ABA Committee on Aviation and Space Law from 1970-1991. He also served as Assistant General Counsel for Aero Design Engineering Company and Aero Design, Inc., 1963-1972; Oklahoma Counsel for Rockwell Standard Corporation, North American Rockwell Corporation, and Rockwell International Corporation, 1972-1979. Mr. Johnston was Counsel for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and Gulfstream Aerospace Technologies, Inc., 1979-2002. He has been involved in the legal aspects of aircraft certification, manufacturing, flight testing production and products litigation as well as labor and employment issues. Mr. Johnston is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Military Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, and all Oklahoma Courts. In addition, he is USAFR (Ret) and an FAA Licensed Commercial Pilot (ASMEL). | |
